I love music!! If you follow this blog you may already know this. In fact tonight I am listening to a free broadcast on Yahoo. Tonight features one of may favorite bands (The String Cheese Incident). Music is a critical part of my self care routine. Also in my former role as a school social worker, I used to run a drumming group in the summer program.
In the below TedEd lesson, Anita Collins demonstrates what playing a musical instrument does to the brain. It is pretty neat to consider the neurobiology of music. Also a great reason to integrate it into therapy and self care. I encourage you to think about or even comment on how music helps you or your professional life.
